FAQs
Policyholders no longer pay first and claim back later. A Pliant card (physical, virtual, or in a mobile wallet) pays directly from the insurer's funds at the point of service. Copays or deductibles charge automatically to the member's own card on file. If a claim is declined, uncovered amounts settle the same way.
Any line with a claims payout: health and care, travel and international medical, property (emergency accommodation and repairs), motor and roadside assistance, parametric products (e.g. flight delay), and employee benefits programs. The same card infrastructure covers member cards, provider payments, and TPA workflows.
Members add their personal payment card once. When a covered service includes a copay or deductible, the split calculates automatically: the claims card pays the insurer's share, the member's personal card charges their share, and both sides get documented for reconciliation.
Pliant blocks fraud before money leaves. Every payout is a card transaction tied to an approved claim, so fake claims can't be cashed out. Merchant locks, category (MCC) filters, geographic and time restrictions, and real-time transaction verification all enforce at the moment of payment.
Yes. Pliant is a certified PCI DSS service provider and ISO 27001-certified. In Europe, Pliant Oy issues cards as an authorized e-money institution, supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority and a Principal Member of Visa.
No. Most insurers start with zero integration. Your claims team issues and manages cards directly through the Pliant dashboard. As volumes grow, the same workflows run automatically via API, including integration into your existing claims and core systems.
